Armour was a company-owned town built in the early 1900's by Armour Fertilizer Works. It consisted basically of a group of houses for the employees who worked at the site. Mail delivery came from nearby Bartow and supplies came from Agricola. Following a strike in 1919 the mining operations here shut down and never resumed. This effectively put an end to the town.
