Octave. Eight partners formed Octave Gold Mining Com-pany in 1863 witch was running with success around Rich Hill until 1941 when Executive Order 208 closed no strategically mines. Octave becomes town in the late 1890. Post office, witch was opened in Weawer in 1899 was moved to Octave and opened on April 19, 1900, when the resident left Weawer. Post office closed on December 31, 1942. In Octave were stagecoach station, school and grocery store. The mostly buildings were destroyed after WW2 by the owners, to save tax money. To day are a lot of foundation left and one original building is still standing. |
